Job summary

Robson Elementary School in Mesa, AZ seeks an Instructional Assistant for the GUS program to support teachers and supervise students under direct supervision. You will assist with classroom activities, instructional tasks, and routine clerical duties to help students learn in an at-risk program.

The position is full-time (35 hours per week) with a base hourly rate of $17.57. Benefits include sick leave, holidays, retirement matched through ASRS, health and life insurance, plus annual performance

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or 60 college credit hours required at time of hire OR pass the ParaPro Test provided by the district free of charge
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

Responsibilities

• Administer tests, homework assignments, make-up work to support instructional process
• Assist students individually or in groups with lessons to reinforce learning
• Guide students in independent study and provide feedback to ensure success
• Confer with teachers and parents to evaluate student progress against objectives
• Develop classroom materials to support lesson plans
• Maintain instructional equipment for availability when required
• Monitor students and classroom environment to reinforce positive behavior and safety
• Maintain records and perform clerical duties to support teachers and administrators
