Qualifications

• Be at least eighteen years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent.
• Hold an associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
• Have earned 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at the 100 level or higher at an accredited college or university.
• Have completed an apprenticeship as a paraeducator in a WSATC-registered program.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check and fingerprinting is required before hiring.

Responsibilities

• Instructional support: Assist the lead teacher in implementing IEPs and lesson plans for small groups or individual students.
• Classroom management: Help maintain a safe, positive, and productive learning environment.
• Student supervision: Supervise students during classroom activities, breakfast and lunch, recess, and transitions between classes.

1. Have received a passing score on one of the assessments approved by the board
2. Hold an associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university

4. Have completed an apprenticeship as a paraeducator in a program registered with the Washington State Apprenticeship and Training Council (WSATC)
