Job summary

RCM Healthcare Services is seeking a Paraprofessional / Behavior Interventionist in Monrovia, CA. At hourly rates of $16.00–$22.00, the role provides behavioral, academic, and personal support within a school setting, with on-site work during regular school hours and full-time/part-time options.

You will assist with behavior management, observations, and transitions, collaborating with teachers to promote student success and safety while adhering to district procedures and CPI standards.

Qualifications

• Preferred: Degree in a related field.
• Required: CPI Certification (provided by RCM if not currently certified)

Responsibilities

• Assist with toileting, diapering, and personal care for students when required.

• Assist with physical intervention and restraint when appropriate per district procedures.

Paraprofessional / Behavior Interventionist

Hourly Rate: $16.00 – $22.00 per hour

Location: Monrovia, California; Onsite

Position Summary

As a Paraprofessional / Behavior Interventionist, you will provide academic, behavioral, and personal support services to students within a school-based setting. This role supports students who may require behavioral intervention, redirection, and individualized assistance throughout the school day while collaborating closely with teachers and school staff to promote student success and safety. Responsibilities include behavior management support, assisting with daily living activities, collecting behavioral observations, and facilitating safe classroom and school transitions. Responsibilities

Schedule / Shift

• Shift details: Monday–Friday, regular school hours
• Hours per week: Full-time and part-time opportunities available
• Contract length: School-based assignment

Key Duties

• Support students in achieving academic and behavioral goals within classroom and school environments
• Monitor student behavior and provide redirection, intervention, and behavioral support as needed
• Assist students with clothing, snack routines, toileting, self-toileting prompts, and diapering support when required
• Facilitate safe student transitions between classrooms and school settings
• Collect behavioral observations and data to support student assessments and interventions
• Collaborate proactively with teachers and school staff regarding student progress and behavioral concerns
• Supervise student movement throughout the school environment while maintaining safety protocols
• Assist with physical intervention and student restraint when appropriate and in accordance with district procedures
• Perform additional duties, trainings, meetings, and support activities as assigned

Requirements

Education

Licenses & Certifications

• Required: CPI Certification (provided by RCM if not currently certified)

Skills

• Ability to support students with behavioral, emotional, and academic needs
• Comfortable assisting students with toileting, diapering, and personal care support across all age groups
• Strong communication, teamwork, and classroom support skills
• Ability to remain calm and effective during behavioral escalations and crisis situations
• Ability to physically assist and restrain students when appropriate and safely lift or support non-ambulatory students
• Ability to maintain prompt attendance and work on-site during regular school hours
