Job summary

Paycom - ATS is seeking a dedicated paraprofessional to support instructional staff in Allendale’s programs. Under supervision, you will implement lesson plans, manage small groups and assist with classroom activities while ensuring safety and adherence to treatment plans.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in Education or related field, a paraprofessional or substitute teacher license, and a valid driver’s license. Experience in residential/therapeutic settings is a plus.

• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Must be at least 21 years old.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, implement instructional programs in small groups and one-on-one.
• Follow Allendale’s Universal Rules and treatment program.
• Implement behavioral plans per IEP and restrain when necessary per policy.
• Attend and participate in clinical, team meetings and trainings.
• Maintain compliance with agency trainings (TCI, CPR/First Aid).
• Provide direct care and supervision on the unit during routines.
• Assist in preparing instructional materials and bulletin boards.
• Ensure equipment and computers are functioning; report maintenance.
• Assist in supervising recreation and ancillary subjects (art, music, PE).
• Maintain student records: point system, grades, filings; report progress.
• Assist planning supervision of recreation during school vacations.
• Complete behavioral documentation and Medicaid billings; document shift activities.
• Administer medication as directed by Health Services Director.
• Transport youth to off-campus sites.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job description

GENERAL FUNCTIONProvides direct care and supervision of clients within the milieu in accordance with the agency treatment program including Agency Behavior Treatment Plan (ABTP) and Universal Rules. Under direct supervision of Teaching staff, provides assistance in the area of instruction and classroom management to ensure a quality learning environment for the students. Under the direct supervision on the Unit Coordinator, implements individual and group programming on the units during non-school days.SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES1. Under the supervision of the assigned teacher, implements instructional programs and lesson plans within small groups and one-on-one sessions.2. Understands and implements Allendale’s Universal Rules and treatment program. Implements behavioral plans in accordance with the treatment plan and/or IEP. Utilizes restrictive interventions which includes the ability to physically restrain clients when a danger to self or others in accordance with Rule 384.3. Attends and actively participates in school clinical and team meetings, agency trainings, and residential teammeetings when appropriate. Maintains compliance in all required agency trainings (i.e.: TCI, CPR/1st Aid, etc.)4. Provides direct care and supervision of residents in unit program areas during the morning routine, non-school days and at other times as appropriate.5. Assists in the preparation of instructional materials and bulletin board displays. Assists with maintaining a clean and organized milieu. Ensures classroom computers and equipment are in working order. Reports maintenance needs/work requests to appropriate personnel.6. Assists Teaching staff and Recreation staff in providing basic instruction and supervision in ancillary subjects to students in areas such as music, art, physical education, leisure activities, etc.7. Assists with student record keeping such as point system, grades, and filing. Assists in presenting writtenprogress reports on students and communicating these reports to other staff at appropriate times.8. Assists in the planning, implementation and supervision of clients in recreation activities during school vacations and holidays.9. Completes behavioral documentation and assigned Medicaid Billings. Documents shift activities on the unit.10. Administers medication and follows medical procedures for residents as directed by the Health ServicesDirector.11. Transports youth to prescribed off-campus sites.12. Performs other related duties as assigned.REQUIRED: 1. Bachelor’s Degree in Education/Special Education or related fieldor5 years equivalent 5 years related experience.2. Paraprofessional license or substitute teacher license.3.
