Job summary

Camden County School System seeks a paraprofessional aide to support classroom activities, prepare instructional materials, and participate in in-service programs. The role requires confidentiality and professionalism in handling student and school-system information.

Fingerprinting per HB 1187 is required for new certificated staff, with employment decisions made without regard to race, creed, color, national origin, sex, age, religion or disability.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher, or 60 semester hours with a C or better, or pass GACE Paraprofessional Assessment.
• Assist teacher with classroom activities and prepare displays and instructional materials.
• Participate in in-service school programs.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism regarding student and school system affairs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Hold an associate's degree or higher in any subject from a GaPSC-accepted accredited institution. OR Have completed two 2 years of college coursework (sixty [60] semester hours) above the remedial level with a grade of "C" or better at a GaPSC-accepted accredited institution. OR Have passed the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment and hold a minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent
• Assist teacher with classroom activities; prepare class displays, bulletin boards, and other instructional materials. Assumes other responsibilities as the teacher may assign
• Participate in in-service school programs
• Maintains strict confidentiality and professionalism regarding student and school system affairs

SECURITY CLEARANCE: House Bill 1187 mandates that all certificated individuals new to the school system, after July 1, 1994, submit to fingerprinting and a criminal record check.
