Job summary

Chicago Bridge & Iron Company is seeking a Plate Structures Designer to create parametric 3D designs and drawings for plate structures and foundations used in Storage Solutions projects. You will work under the Project Engineer, coordinating with designers and engineers to ensure accuracy and constructability in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires proficiency with Microstation, AutoCAD, Solidworks, and Fusion360, plus strong geometry and BOM skills.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of related experience in plate structures detailing.
• High school diploma and some post-secondary education or equivalent experience.
• Associates degree or 2-year technical degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed drawings for customer approval, fabrication, and construction.
• Ensure drawings are safe for field erection and use.
• Compare details and BOM to as-sold estimates and flag discrepancies.
• Run programs to generate detail drawings and BOMs.
• Estimate task duration and commit to deadlines.
• Use document management systems and collaboration tools.
