Job summary

Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital is seeking a PRN Paramedic to join its EMS transport team. This on-site role supports emergency and non-emergency patient transport in the Sullivan area within the BJC network.

The Paramedic will respond to calls, assess and document patient care, and provide safe transport under medical direction. A valid Paramedic license (MO/IL) and a High School diploma or GED are required; 2-5 years of experience preferred.

• High School Diploma or GED is required.

Responsibilities

• Responds to emergency and non-emergency patient care needs; communicates with the emergency department upon arrival.
• Provides quality patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individual patient care.

Overview

Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital is a designated critical access hospital committed to providing quality health care service to residents in Crawford, Franklin and Washington counties.

The hospital has enhanced and expanded the health care services available to the greater Sullivan community with its state-of-the-art emergency department, modern childbirth center, critical care unit, multiroom surgical suite, expanded cardiac rehab services, and a cancer center. A 22,500 square-foot medical office building provides offices for primary care physicians as well as space for a variety of visiting medical and surgical specialists from the St. Louis area.

Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital operates four rural health clinics providing quality health care to surrounding communities. In addition, the hospital operates a comprehensive Therapy and Rehabilitation department and an award-winning Wound Care Center with two hyperbaric chambers.

Missouri Baptist Sullivan EMS operates 24-hour ambulance services with two crews assisting the communities we serve with transportation to MBSH, BJC or other healthcare facilities

Role Purpose

The Paramedic - Transport is responsible for all aspects of emergency medical services and non-emergency care in the pre-hospital, transport environment. This position works under on-line and off-line medical control, providing all levels of care.

• BJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.
