Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 years of paramedic experience.
• Graduate of an EMT-Paramedic course.
• Paramedic license in Alabama upon hire.
• Valid driver's license and driving record sufficient for insurance.
• Substitution of education/experience may be possible.

Responsibilities

• Answer transfer calls and enter data into the facility database.
• Coordinate transfer of emergent, urgent and elective patients to final destination facilities.
• Facilitate patient throughput with focus on quality and efficiency.
• Collaborate with Transfer Center Specialists to ensure timely transfer and bed assignment.
• Adhere to EMTALA, Ethics and Compliance policies and quality initiatives.
• Communicate with physicians and referring facilities about transfers and bed placements.
• Maintain infection control and safety standards.
