Job summary

Memorial Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, seeks a Paramedic for PRN shifts in our busy 19-bed ED. You will perform patient assessments, assist with treatments, and document care under supervision while maintaining equipment and supplies.

The ideal candidate holds EMT-P certification, an associate degree (preferred), and has BLS/ACLS/PALS-PEPP credentials within required timeframes. Join a team dedicated to high-quality emergency care in a collaborative setting.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree preferred; validated by current state licensure.
• Licenses: Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic (EMT-P).
• BLS within 30 days of hire; ACLS within 30 days; PALS/PEPP within 6 months.
• Handle with Care to be received within 30 days of orientation and kept annually.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient assessments and treatments under physician or nurse supervision.
• Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection.
• Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition.
• Document patient care provided and maintain equipment and supplies.
• Perform administrative duties such as scheduling, data entry and registration.
• Deliver exceptional customer service to patients and teammates.

Department/Unit Summary
Join our team in a dynamic 19-bed Emergency Room (ER) located on the 1st floor. Our diverse staff includes RNs, Nurse Externs, Paramedics, EMTs, MAs, CNAs, Phlebotomists, Pharmacists, and Providers, creating a collaborative environment to deliver exceptional care. Known for our wide variety of patient care services, including cardiac, abdominal pain, shortness of breath, strokes trauma, bariatric accreditations, and offer the only Pediatric and PICU in Southern New Mexico. With an average daily volume of approximately 108 patients, this role offers the opportunity to contribute to high-quality emergency medical care while working alongside a dedicated team in a fast-paced setting.

How you'll contribute:
A Paramedic who excels in this role:

• Under the supervision of physician or nurse, assists with performing patient assessments and treatments.
• Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection.
• Monitors and communicates changes in patient condition.
• Documents patient care given.
• Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting.
• Maintains examination areas.
• Performs administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
• Exhibits exceptional customer service with patients and teammates.

What we’re looking for:

• Education: Associate’s Degree Preferred; Graduate of a Program in Discipline; validated by current state licensure
• Licenses: Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-P)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire;
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 30 days of hire;
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Pediatric Education for Prehospital Professionals (PEPP) within 6 months of hire date
• Handle with Care to be received within 30 days of orientation and kept annually
