Job summary

MercyOne Elkader Medical Center is a 25-bed critical access hospital seeking a Paramedic PRN. You will respond to 911 calls and interfacility transfers, delivering direct patient care within MercyOne's Central Ambulance service-area.

Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, you will assist with delegated tasks of direct and indirect patient care in the Emergency Department, with on-call hours and varying schedules. MercyOne Health System supports community-focused, compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Provide direct patient care in both the pre-hospital and hospital setting.
• Cover on-call hours as directed and per departmental need.
• Licensed Iowa Paramedic (required), active licensure.
• Current ACLS, PALS, and BLS.

We are looking to hire a Paramedic PRN. As a Paramedic PRN at MercyOne, you will respond to 911 calls and interfacility and tiered transfer requests, providing direct patient care within the Central Ambulance service-area. Under general supervision of a Registered Nurse, assist with delegated tasks of direct and indirect patient care within CCH's Emergency Department. Initiate and provide care within the scope of practice as defined by law providing emergency care to a wide range of patients including pediatric, adult, and geriatric. Schedule: Varies as PRN and Calls

General Requirements

• Provide direct patient care in both the pre-hospital and hospital setting.
• Cover on-call hours as directed and per departmental need.

Education

• Licensed State of Iowa Paramedic (required), must maintain active licensure.
• Complete required continuing education every two years to maintain current certification status.
• Current ACLS, PALS, and BLS.
