Southern Oklahoma Ambulance Service Inc. seeks a part-time Paramedic to operate an emergency medical vehicle and provide Paramedic level care to patients in Ardmore, OK.

You will transport patients, communicate with receiving facilities, and perform critical medical interventions according to protocols. The role requires Paramedic certification and ability to obtain an Oklahoma EMS license, a clean driving record, and no criminal history.

• Examines patients to assess illness or injury severity.
• Administers first-aid according to protocols at scene or in ambulance.
• Inspects vehicles and equipment and replenishes supplies, fuel and fluids.

Job Description

• Operates an emergency medical vehicle.
• Lifts, carries, and transports injured, sick or incapacitated persons from residential or accident scenes to medical facilities.
• Provides Paramedic level emergency medical treatment to injured, sick, or incapacitated persons.
• Communicates with professional medical personnel at treatment facility to obtain instructions regarding treatment and to arrange for reception at medical treatment facilities.
• Obtains information from and examines patients to determine nature, extent, or magnitude of illness or injury.
• Administers prescribed first-aid treatment at site of emergency or in the ambulance according to established medical protocols.
  
• Inspects equipped emergency vehicles; cleans equipment to ensure its safe operation; and replenishes medical supplies, fuel, and fluids.

Requirements

• Applicants must be Paramedic certified and able to obtain an Oklahoma EMS license. Basic EMTs nearing the end of Paramedic school or waiting to test will be considered.
• Applicants must have a clean driving record and no criminal history and must be able to obtain an Oklahoma Driver's License.
• Our candidate testing includes a skills exam, physical fitness test and written exam.
• Preferred candidates will have current CPR, ACLS and PALS certifications.
  

Additional pay incentives are paid for special events and other special situations.

Job Type: Part-time

Base Pay: $23.00 per hour

Additional pay incentives:

Associate degree + $1.00 per hour

Bachelor's degree + $2.00 per hour

Master's degree + $3.00 per hour

OSDH EMS Instructor + $0.50 per hour

CCP or FCP + $1.00 per hour
