Job summary

Rural Metro Fire Department seeks Paramedics for immediate hire in Connecticut. This role emphasizes compassionate, high-quality patient care, leadership on scenes, and collaboration with public safety partners.

You will respond to 911 calls and deliver advanced medical care with monitors and IV therapy. Starting compensation is $32.73+ per hour, plus a $10,000 sign-on bonus for full-time Paramedics with a 2-year commitment.

Qualifications

• State Paramedic License required.
• PALS, BLS, ACLS, and NREMT-Paramedic certifications required.
• Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Assess each call to determine best course of action under Paramedic protocols.
• Provide advanced medical care using defibrillator, monitor, oxygen, suction, and IV fluids.
• Communicate with patients and families to reassure and inform.
• Act as Paramedic team leader and manage scene and unit as needed.
• Drive the ambulance on 911 responses and coordinate with healthcare partners.
• Collaborate with allied health and public safety personnel; participate in community programs.

10k Sign on Bonus for Full-Time Paramedics with 2 Year Commitment.

We’re hiring Paramedics that are passionate about delivering compassionate, high-quality service and advanced patient care to our customers.

Responsibilities

• Assess each call situation to determine best course of action while working with progressive Paramedic protocols.
• Utilize your Paramedic skills on medical equipment and procedures including defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen and suction devices, and intravenous fluids to provide advanced medical care.
• Communicate with patients and loved ones to provide information and assurance that care is being given.
• Act as Paramedic team leader and take responsibility for the scene and unit management as needed.
• Drive the ambulance on 911 responses.
• Work collaboratively and in a professional manner with all allied health and public safety personnel as well as your fellow Paramedics.
• Participate in community programs to maintain AMR image and establish strong community relations.

Minimum Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• State Paramedic License
• PALS certification
• State Driver’s License
• BLS, ACLS, NREMT-Paramedic
• Driving record compliant with company policy
• Pass Physical Agility Test
• Some work experience, preferably healthcare
