Job summary

Methodist Health System in Plano, TX is seeking an ER Technician II to support direct patient care in the Emergency Department. You will assist with therapeutic treatments as ordered by the physician, operate basic laboratory equipment, and aid in patient discharge and education.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, current Texas EMT-P or National EMT-P certification, BLS, ACLS, and PALS within 90 days of hire; one year of related experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required within 90 days of hire.

Job Description : Job Purpose:

The ER Technician II is responsible for all basic patient care duties and assists with direct patient care to provide support services to the patients, families, and other Emergency Services staff. This includes, but is not limited to, therapeutic treatment as ordered by the physician on duty, operation of laboratory equipment, patient discharge and education. Supports the mission, vision, values and strategic goals of Methodist Health System.

Job Requirements: Education:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Licenses and/or Certifications:

• Current Texas EMT-P certification (license required) or National EMT-P Certification
• Current Basic Life Support Certification required
• Current Advanced Cardio Life Support Certification required
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certification required within 90 days of hire

Work Experience:

• 1 year of work-related experience - preferred
