Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED Equivalent required.
• Completion of a NYS Sanctioned Training Program required.
• Active EMT-P license in good standing required.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required from the American Heart Association.
• Must be capable of utilizing all EMT-B and EMT-Critical Care skills and equipment.
• Knowledgeable in the use of a cardiac monitor/defibrillator and IV drugs per protocol.

Responsibilities

• Responds to calls when dispatched.
• Assesses scene safety and patient condition; provides care.
• Transports patient to medical facility and reports to receiving facility.
• Completes documentation and follows medical control orders.
