Job summary

AMR Josephine County in Southern Oregon is hiring Paramedics to deliver ALS care in a busy 911 system serving about 17,000 calls per year. Enjoy a supportive team, relocation assistance for full-time roles, and the chance to work in the Rogue River Valley with outdoor recreation nearby.

You will lead scenes, coordinate patient care, and collaborate with public safety partners while advancing training through tuition reimbursement and career development programs offered by AMR and GMR.

Qualifications

• State Paramedic license required.
• State driver’s license required.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS and PHTLS or ITLS certifications needed.
• Pass a physical agility test.
• Some healthcare work experience preferred.
• Relocation assistance may be available for full-time Paramedics.

Responsibilities

• Assess each call situation and determine best action in a 911 system (~17k/year).
• Utilize paramedic skills to full scope in Oregon’s progressive system.
• Communicate with patients and families to provide information and reassurance.
• Act as Paramedic team leader and manage scene and unit as needed.
• Collaborate professionally with allied health and public safety personnel.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assess each call situation to determine the best course of action while working with progressive Paramedic protocols in a 911 system running about 17,000 requests per year.
• Utilize your Paramedic skills in a progressive medical system to the full scope of an Oregon Paramedic.
• Communicate with patients and loved ones to provide information and assurance that care is being given.
• Act as Paramedic team leader and take responsibility for the scene and unit management as needed
• Work collaboratively and in a professional manner with all allied health and public safety personnel as well as your fellow Paramedics.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• State Paramedic License
• State Driver’s License
• BLS, ACLS, PALS and PHTLS or ITLS
• Driving record in compliance with company policy
• Pass Physical Agility Test
• Some work experience, preferably in healthcare
