Job summary

AdventHealth Calhoun is seeking a dedicated paramedic to respond to emergency and non-emergency calls, provide high-quality patient care, and operate ambulances safely. You will support higher-trained personnel, maintain infection control standards, and document patient interactions with accuracy.

Qualifications

  • Ability to assess, treat, and care for patients to the level of certification.
  • Ability to maintain a professional and calm presence under critical situations.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle in a safe and professional manner.
  • Ability to determine patient conditions and pre-existing medical issues.
  • Ability to identify and manage life-threatening conditions within the paramedic's scope.
  • Must read, write and speak conversational English.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Responds to emergency and non-emergency calls to provide care to ill and injured patients.
  • Operates the ambulance safely and professionally, obeying traffic rules.
  • Completes patient care reports and required documentation.
  • Delivers excellent customer service to patients, families, and responders.

Job Description

Assists higher-trained personnel in providing effective care.Delivers exceptional customer service to patients, families, bystanders, and other response agency personnel. Supports community service and relationship functions as requested by leadership. Maintains a safe and effective work environment by adhering to infection control standards. Communicates effectively with healthcare team members and other emergency responders. Ensures the ambulance is clean, stocked, and ready for use at all times. Follows established policies, procedures, guidelines, medical protocols, and safety standards. Responds to emergency and non-emergency calls to provide care to ill and injured patients. Performs assessments and applies methods of treatment and transport based on medical protocols. Operates the ambulance safely and professionally, obeying traffic rules and regulations. Completes patient care reports, daily checklists, and other required documentation.Other duties as assigned.
