Job summary

City of Dayton is seeking a Paramedic to operate under the Dayton Fire Department Medical Director’s guidance. You will assess patients on scene, provide advanced life support, and transport to hospital emergency rooms.

You will also maintain equipment and support station duties as needed. Ideal candidates are Ohio-certified Paramedics with a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to pass GMVEMSC orders annually.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or G.E.D. is required.
• Must be certified as a State of Ohio Paramedic at time of appointment and maintain thereafter.

Responsibilities

• Determine nature and extent of illness or injury upon arrival and administers basic and advanced emergency health care.
• Assess injuries, provide emergency care and protection, and assist others in removing patients.
• Maintain medical supplies on the ambulance and ensure the vehicle is ready for treatment and transport.
• Perform station maintenance and house watch duties as assigned.
