About BioLife Plasma Services

BioLife Plasma Services is a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd. It collects high‑quality plasma to produce life‑changing medicines. Employees report to the Plasma Center Manager and perform under the guidance of the Center Physician for medical issues. All staff are expected to provide excellent customer service and support operational and medical requirements.

About the Role

The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) will evaluate donor eligibility, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable results. The specialist works under the guidance of the Center Manager and the Center Physician, is familiar with plasma collection regulations, and follows BioLife Medical Affairs guidance and environmental, health and safety (EHS) support.

How You Will Contribute

• Determine donor eligibility and manage informed consent, AIDS education, self‑exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of serologic protein electrophoresis (SPE).
• Evaluate donor reactions at the facility per SOPs and perform medical emergency procedures, develop standing orders, and coordinate transport to emergency care.
• Refer donor findings to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical or technical issues, donor safety, and eligibility.
• Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and determine if further evaluation is required by occupational health or ER; refer to EHS guidance.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats in the local community.

What You Bring to Takeda

• High school diploma or equivalent, or recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
• Current state license or certification: EMT‑Paramedic.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Basic IV therapy certification required in state of licensure.
• Completion of FDA‑approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years of experience in clinical or hospital settings.

Compensation and Benefits

U.S. Hourly Wage Range: $24.32 – $33.44. The actual hourly wage offered may vary based on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location. Compensation will meet state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
