As a PRN Paramedic/EMT-B at Guttenberg Municipal Hospital & Clinics, you will deliver holistic care that encompasses clinical interventions, coordination of services, and comprehensive patient and family education. Under the guidance and supervision of experienced professionals, you will be responsible for providing quality care to patients of all ages, ensuring that their diverse needs are met with empathy and respect. In this role, you will perform a variety of direct and indirect patient care duties, allowing you to engage with patients in meaningful ways while supporting their journey toward health and recovery. To excel as a PRN Paramedic/EMT-B at Guttenberg Municipal Hospital & Clinics, you will need to possess a blend of technical skills and interpersonal attributes. A valid Iowa Advanced EMT or Paramedic Certification is essential, along with maintaining ongoing education and certifications from the IDPH Bureau of EMS, including Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and Neonatal Resuscitation within one year of hire. A current Iowa Driver’s License is required, and PHTLS certification is preferred. Clinical knowledge is crucial for performing quality patient care duties effectively. You must be proficient in reading, writing, and following both written and oral instructions, while also demonstrating a commitment to continuous learning within your scope of practice.
Strong customer service skills, empathy, tact, and kindness are vital for building rapport with patients and families. Additionally, the ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with team members will be essential for success in this role.
