Job summary

Reston Hospital Center is seeking a Paramedic for Emergency Services to support initial patient assessment, triage, and critical care in a busy ED setting. You will assist with IV therapy, airway management, and complex procedures under physician supervision, including defibrillation and intubation as needed.

Qualified candidates have Virginia EMT-Paramedic, ACLS, and PALS; 3+ years field experience preferred; night shifts (1845–0715) and 4 weekends per month required.

Qualifications

• Paramedic training completed and active state certification.
• ACLS certification required; PALS preferred.
• Emergency room or equivalent EMS experience preferred.
• Ability to work 3, 12-hour night shifts (1845–0715) and 4 weekend shifts per month.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed nurse with initial patient assessment and triage.
• Monitor patient status and record inputs/outputs; manage IV fluids.
• Assist physicians with procedures (central line insertions, chest procedures, intubation).
• Perform CPR, EKG, IV starts, and airway management as directed.
