Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital in Canton is seeking a Paramedic for the Emergency Department on a PRN basis. You will provide emergency treatment, monitor patients, and support RN and physician teams during shifts that may vary around the clock.
Required certifications include EMTP in Ohio, BLS, ACLS, and PALS with clinical EMS experience. You will work under supervision, handling vital signs, EKGs, airway management, and transport tasks in a high-volume ED.

Paramedics provide emergency treatment, including advanced life support, to patients in emergencies. The Paramedic’s role is to assess the urgent medical needs of patients and stabilize their conditions. Paramedics are the most highly trained emergency medical responders.
This is a PRN role. A caregiver in this position will work varying shifts throughout the day/night.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide duties thatassistin providing patient care in the Emergency Department under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Obtain and record vital signs.
Perform EKGs, CPR, phlebotomy and oral, nasal and ET suctioning.
Initiate cardiac monitoring, oxygentherapyand saline locks.
Notify the RN and/or physician of rhythm changes.
Applyorthopaedicappliances and simple splints.
Size crutches and teach crutch walking.
Assistwith equipment setup, chest tubes, gastric lavage, LP, etc.
Assistwith restraint and seclusion of patients and apply restraint devices.
Transport patients and specimens.
Assistwith sterile procedures and cleaning andmaintainingsupplies and equipment.
Maintain confidentiality and respect patient privacy.
Perform fluid/drug administration.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Completion of an accredited EMS-Paramedic training program
Current licensure as an Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic (EMTP) in Ohio
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)OR the American Red Cross
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)OR the American Red Crossupon hire or within one year of start date in the Emergency Department
Clinical experience through an EMS Paramedic training program
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
International Trauma Life Support (ITLS)
One year of experience as an EMT-P
