Piedmont Macon North is seeking a Paramedic Nurse Extender to deliver age-appropriate, culturally sensitive care under supervision. You will educate patients and families, collect information, and use technology to support care delivery.

The role involves assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of health services, advocacy, and oversight of unlicensed staff; GA Licensure required with BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of experience as a Paramedic preferred.
• GA paramedic license current; BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications required; NRE preferred.

Responsibilities

The Paramedic, under the supervision of the Professional Registered Nurse and/or Physician is responsible for facilitating age-appropriate, culturally and ethnically sensitive care, maintaining a safe environment, educating patients and their families, collecting information, communicating effectively, and utilizing technology. The Paramedic participates in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the delivery of health care services and task. The role of the Paramedic Nurse Extender also, includes patient advocacy, teaching, performance improvement, and the oversight of unlicensed personnel. Qualifications:

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required

Work Experience

• 1 year of experience as a Paramedic Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• BLS - Basic Life Support BLS Certification Upon Hire Required
• ACLS Upon Hire Required
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support Paramedics new to specialty will complete applicable certifications within 6 months of start date within 180 Days Required
• LP - Licensed Paramedic Current certification as a Paramedic in the State of Georgia Upon Hire Required
• LP - Licensed Paramedic Current certification as a Paramedic in the National Registry Preferred
