Compensation

Paramedics: 24 hour shift $64,000 plus seniority. Other shifts available.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct a careful examination of the patient for signs and symptoms of illness or injury and assist other medical personnel as necessary.
• Administer prompt and efficient basic life support care within the limits of license or certification and in accordance with approved protocols before and during transport.
• Provide careful handling of the patient to and from the ambulance.
• Transport the patient safely and efficiently to the medical facility.
• Transfer patient and care information to receiving personnel at the destination.
• Document all aspects of patient condition and treatment on EMS run reports; record non‑medical patient information as required; complete other documentation and forms as necessary.
• Conduct regular unit inventory and equipment testing to ensure all equipment for which the EMT‑Basic is responsible is present, clean, and in proper working order.
• After transport, keep the ambulance and equipment ready for service.
• Maintain full knowledge of ambulance basic life support equipment and its proper use at all times.
• Report required repairs to the proper maintenance departments (electronic or mechanical) and to supervisors and other personnel as needed.
• Operate the ambulance safely and efficiently, following company driving guidelines, so the safety or condition of occupants are not compromised in both emergency and non‑emergency settings.

Minimum Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must pass a physical evaluation, including lifting 125 lbs.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be able to communicate and understand written and conversational English.
