Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL, seeks a Paramedic (EMT-P) to provide initial medical contact in the Emergency Department triage area, maintaining a safe environment and delivering compassionate care. The role includes blood sample collection and IV access as directed by the ED team, with supervision by the ED Medical Director.

Required Florida EMT-P licensure, current BLS/ACLS, and the ability to obtain PALS within 6 months; PHTLS preferred. Full-time, on-site with varied day/evening shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Current Florida EMT-P Licensure/Certification is required.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required. PALS certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
• PHTLS certification is preferred.

Responsabilités

• The Paramedic (EMT-P)'s primary responsibility is to provide initial medical contact in the triage area of the Emergency Department.
• This includes maintaining a safe environment and providing compassionate care to patients and family members.
• The EMT-P will collect blood samples and/or obtain IV access only at the request of the triage RN or the ED team leader.
• The EMT-P will also be expected to provide initial medical services including basic airway management, spinal stabilization and transportation to ill or injured persons if requested through a code 250 or code blue activation as outlined in the code policy under the supervision of the ED Medical Director.

Experience as a Paramedic preferred. Must be proficient in English; must have the ability to read, write, and speak in English.*Current Florida EMT-P Licensure/Certification is required.

• Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required. PALS certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
• Current PHTLS certification is preferred.

Must have and maintained a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record in accordance with Mayo Clinic policy.
