Job summary

Rural Metro Fire Department in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Paramedic to deliver advanced patient care on 911 responses and lead on-scene operations.

You will use defibrillators, monitors, IV therapy, and work with other EMS and public safety teams to provide compassionate, high-quality care and participate in community outreach to maintain the department's strong image.

Must hold State Paramedic License, EMT certs, and pass agility testing; sign-on bonus available for full-time applicants.

Qualifications

• Must have High school diploma or GED.
• State Paramedic License required.
• State Driver’s License required.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, NREMT-Paramedic certifications required.
• Driving record compliant with company policy.
• Pass Physical Agility Test.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with patients and families to provide information and reassurance.

• Collaborate with allied health and public safety personnel and fellow Paramedics.
• Participate in community programs to maintain AMR image and community relations.

We’re hiring Paramedics that are passionate about delivering compassionate, high‑quality service and advanced patient care to our customers.

Responsibilities

• Assess each call situation to determine the best course of action while working with progressive Paramedic protocols.
• Utilize your Paramedic skills on medical equipment and procedures including defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen and suction devices, and intravenous fluids to provide advanced medical care.
• Communicate with patients and loved ones to provide information and assurance that care is being given.
• Act as Paramedic team leader and take responsibility for the scene and unit management as needed.
• Drive the ambulance on 911 responses.
• Work collaboratively and in a professional manner with all allied health and public safety personnel as well as your fellow Paramedics.
• Participate in community programs to maintain AMR image and establish strong community relations.

Minimum Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• State Paramedic License
• State Driver’s License
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, NREMT‑Paramedic
• Driving record compliant with company policy
• Pass Physical Agility Test
• Some work experience, preferably healthcare

Other Qualifications

• Must be able to successfully pass Physical Agility Test
• Aptitudes required include good physical stamina, endurance, and body condition that would not be adversely affected by frequently having to walk, stand, lift, carry, and balance at times.
• Must be able to lift, drag, hoist, and carry different types of equipment and other objects.
