Job summary

NaphCare, Inc. is hiring a full-time Night Shift Paramedic to join our team at the Hillsborough County Jail in Tampa, Florida. You will work alongside healthcare professionals and security staff to deliver immediate, advanced medical care during emergencies within a correctional facility.

The role requires EMT/paramedic credentials, NPC certification, state licensing, and AHA BLS CPR. You will participate in rapid response, documentation, and liaison with EMS/Fire/Police services as needed.

Qualifications

• Completion of basic and advanced EMT training with credentials from an accredited college or university.
• National Paramedic Certification (NPC) and state licensing.
• AHA BLS CPR Certification.
• Strong knowledge of physiology, cardiology, procedures, and medications.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate medical needs and prioritize care based on severity for staff and patients.
• Respond to emergencies with rapid assessments and advanced care within the facility.
• Administer medications, perform procedures (e.g., intubation, IVs), and support patient/staff care.
• Complete treatment documentation for each patient or staff member.
• Communicate findings to medical staff, security, and external EMS/Fire/Police as needed.

NaphCare is hiring a FT NIGHT SHIFT Paramedic to join our team of medical professionals in the Hillsborough County Jail in Tampa, FL.

Responsibilities

The Paramedic requires working closely with security staff and other medical professionals to provide immediate, advanced medical attention during emergencies. Responsibilities may include and not be limited to:

• Evaluating medical needs, prioritizing medical care by severity, providing urgent care to staff and patients
• Responding to emergencies, providing rapid assessments, advanced medical care and treatments within the facility
• Administering medications, performing intubation, inserting IV lines, delivering babies, etc.
• Completing paperwork and documentation related to individual care of patient or staff
• Communicating and reporting any relevant information to other medical professionals, security staff, and emergency services outside of the facility including EMS/Fire/Police services

Qualifications

Experience / Requirements / Qualifications

• Paramedics are required to complete training for basic and advanced EMTs and additional studies from an accredited college or university
• Completion of National Paramedic Certification (NPC) exam and the required state licensing counterparts
• Hold: AHA BLS CPR Card
• Has extensive knowledge of physiology, cardiology, medical procedures, and medication
• Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards
• Able to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
• Display integrity, professionalism and be able to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements
• Must pass the facility’s criminal background check and drug screening

Physical Capabilities

Must have the ability to stand for long periods, lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds), bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR, all while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift.
