Job summary

Memorial Physician Practices is seeking an Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic (EMT-P) to respond to calls and provide patient care under physician or nurse supervision. The role requires licensure and BLS/ACLS/PALS/PEPP certifications within specified timelines, with non-exempt status and on-site duties.

You will assist with patient assessments, monitor conditions, maintain equipment, and perform administrative tasks while delivering exceptional service to patients and the care team.

Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred; EMT-P license required.
• Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to perform under stress.
• Experience in patient assessment and bedside care is desirable.

Responds to calls for emergency medical services and provides patient care as directed and/or determined necessary.
Reports to: Director of Emergency
FLSA: Non-exempt
Education: Associate's Degree Preferred; Graduate of a Program in Discipline; validated by current state licensure
Licenses: Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-P)
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 30 days of hire; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Pediatric Education for Prehospital Professionals (PEPP) within 6 months of hire date
Handle with Care to be received within 30 days of orientation and kept annually
Required Skills

Essential Functions
Under the supervision of physician or nurse, assists with performing patient assessments and treatments.
Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection. Monitors and communicates changes in patient condition. Documents patient care given.
Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting. Maintains examination areas.
Performs administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
Exhibits exceptional customer service with patients and teammates.
