Job summary

Prime Healthcare's Riverview Regional Medical Center in Gadsden, AL is seeking a Paramedic to join the Emergency Department team. This full-time, day-shift role supports trauma care, CPR, and patient transport under hospital protocols and supervision.

Responsibilities include starting IVs, performing EKGs, monitoring vital signs, assisting airway management, wound care and splinting, and collaborating with nurses, physicians and EMS to ensure high‑quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Current and valid paramedic license issued by OEM/ADPH.
• 3 years of paramedic experience.
• Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain.
• ACLS within 30 days of hire and maintain.
• PALS within 30 days of hire and maintain.
• BVP within 30 days and maintain.
• Dysrhythmia exam with a score of at least 84% within 30 days of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical procedures including IV insertion, EKG acquisition, and continuous vital signs monitoring under supervision.
• Assist with airway management, oxygen therapy, suctioning, and support during advanced airway procedures and resuscitation efforts.
• Provide wound care, apply splints, assist with suturing, and respond as part of the team during medical emergencies.
• Support patient flow by transporting patients to diagnostic areas or inpatient units and assisting with room turnover and preparation.
• Maintain clinical readiness by stocking essential supplies and performing point-of-care testing as permitted by hospital policy.
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and EMS personnel to support trauma care, high-acuity patient management, and assist with clinical procedures and transitions of care.

We are seeking aParamedic,sometimesreferred to as ourEmergency Care Technician (ECT), Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech) orEmergencyRoomTechnician(ER Tech).AParamedicwho willassist with tasks like starting IVs, performing EKGs, monitoring vital signs, and supporting airway management.The Paramedicplay a key role in trauma care, CPR, and patient transport, working closely with nurses and physicians during emergencies.The Paramedic willuse many of their field skills,who willalways perform under hospital protocols and supervision.
