Job summary

ThedaCare Medical Center - Fond du Lac Expansion in Wisconsin is hiring a Paramedic for night shifts. You will perform direct care functions under supervision, document care in EMR, and support RN and providers to ensure safe patient care.

Qualifications include completion of a Paramedic Program, WI Paramedic license, BLS on hire, and ACLS/PALS within 6 months. This 0.9 FTE, 36-hour weekly role offers stability and team-based care.

Qualifications

• Completion of Parametric Program.
• American Heart Association BLS certification upon hire.
• Paramedic license for the State of WI; ACLS & PALS within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Receives direction and assignments from licensed team members and provides technical support to optimize patient care.
• Reports on the condition of the patient to the appropriate licensed team members to ensure safe, quality patient care.
• Completes accurate documentation in the electronic medical record.
• Reinforces patient education performed by the RN.
• Assists with patient transport to other departments as needed based on patient condition.
• Assists with maintaining a safe and clean environment to perform patient care.
• Administers medications under the general supervision of the RN or Provider in accordance with the ThedaCare-approved Paramedic medication list.

Job Description:

SCHEDULE: Full time, benefit eligible 36 hrs/week NOC schedule, 7:00pm-7:00am Every 4th weekend rotation Holiday rotation

• For the Oshkosh Expansion Hospital and ThedaCare Medical Center Fond Du Lac: High School diploma is required

Physical Demands

Ability to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing and pulling) and lift up to a maximum of fifty (50) pounds without assistance. Job classification is exposed to blood borne pathogens (blood or bodily fluids) while performing job duties.

Work Environment

• Frequent exposure to sharp objects and instruments
• Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock.
• Occasional high noise level in work environment.
• Possible exposure to communicable diseases, hazardous materials, and pharmacological agents.
• Occasional contact with aggressive and or combative patients.
