Job summary

University Medical Center of El Paso (UMC) seeks a paramedic to provide invasive patient care under the supervision of medical staff and assist with procedures under the direct training of a registered nurse.

Responsibilities include administering medications per hospital policies and maintaining CPR/ACLS readiness, with EMT-paramedic education and ongoing continuing education documentation.

• Competent in clinical skills required of Paramedic.

• Effective oral and written communication skills.

Required Experience

• Work Experience

No Previous Work Experience Required.

• License/Registration/Certification
• Current National or Texas Paramedic license.
• Current CPR training program.
• Completion of ACLS within 6 months of being in the position.
• PHTLS preferred.
• Education and Training
• Completion of approved emergency medical technician course paramedic level.
• Completion of training on performance of 12-lead EKG within three months of hire.
• Continuing Education

Documents a total of 120 contact hours within the four-year certification period.
