Job summary

Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison, IA seeks a full-time Paramedic to deliver prompt emergency patient care, maintain documentation, and ensure EMS vehicle and equipment readiness. You will act as a team leader during responses and participate in ongoing professional development.

Requirements include current Paramedic certification, CPR (AHA Healthcare Provider), ACLS, a valid state license, and a minimum of two years’ full-time prehospital experience.

Qualifications

• Current Paramedic state certification.

• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responds promptly to all request for patient care as directed.
• Completes documentation and records according to department and state policies.
• Ensures vehicle and equipment are ready for responses at all times.
• Performs assigned duties in the emergency department under the supervision of the Emergency Room Nurse, Physician, and/or Supervisor.
• Acts as a team leader when dealing with emergency responses.
• Takes proper care of the vehicle and equipment.
• Pursues new levels in paramedicine technology and participates in activities, which contribute to professional growth and development.
• Participates in community activities, which improve the public’s understanding of the EMS system.
• Attends and completes all required safety and annual training requirements as assigned.
• Follows the hospital exposure control plans/bloodborne and airborne pathogens.
• Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.
• Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a department inter- and intra- departmentally to facilitate the department’s ability to meet its goals and objectives.

Professional Requirements:

• Complete annual education requirements.

Job Requirements:

• Current Paramedic state certification.

• Current certification in advanced cardiac life support, American Heart Association.
• Current motor vehicle operators state license.
