Job summary

AMR Bay Shore seeks Paramedics to provide high-quality emergency and basic/advanced patient care. Starting pay is $32.73 per hour with increases based on experience, plus a $5K sign-on for FT hires and $2.5K for PT hires (paid over 6 months).

Referral bonuses up to $5K for full-time or $2.5K for part-time referrals are offered. You’ll assess emergencies, operate critical equipment, lead on-scene teams, drive ambulances, and work collaboratively with public safety personnel.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• NY State Paramedic License required.
• REMAC credentials for Nassau/Suffolk regions.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
• Valid NY Driver’s License with clean driving record.
• Healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess each call to determine best action using paramedic protocols.
• Operate medical equipment including defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen, suction, and IVs.
• Communicate with patients and families to explain care and reassure them.
• Lead the Paramedic team on scene and manage unit operations as required.
• Respond to 911 calls and drive the ambulance.
• Collaborate with allied health and public safety personnel.
• Participate in community programs to maintain AMR image and relations.

Responsibilities:

• Assess each call situation to determine the best course of action while working with progressive Paramedic protocols.
• Utilize your Paramedic skills on medical equipment and procedures including defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen and suction devices, and intravenous fluids to provide advanced medical care.
• Communicate with patients and loved ones to provide information and assurance that care is being given.
• Act as Paramedic team leader and take responsibility for the scene and unit management as needed.
• Drive the ambulance on 911 responses.
• Work collaboratively and in a professional manner with all allied health and public safety personnel as well as your fellow Paramedics.

Other Responsibilities:

• Participate in community programs to maintain AMR image and establish strong community relations.
