Job summary

San Diego Elder Law Center is seeking a paralegal with not less than 2 years of recent experience in trust administration, probate, or estate planning, with willingness to work in elder law matters. The firm supports a hybrid and remote work environment and offers good benefits.

The ideal candidate will handle pleadings for trust/probate administration, possess knowledge of Probate Code and court rules, and manage a caseload from start to finish while maintaining client relationships.

Qualifications

Job description

San Diego Elder Law Center is growing and is looking for a paralegal with not less than 2 years of recent experience in one or more of the following areas:

• Trust Administration


• Probate


• Estate Planning


• Conservatorships

We will also consider paralegals with similar experience in family law practice. This is a full-time position with good benefits. We are a very well‑respected firm, currently with 5 attorneys, 4 paralegals, and five administrative support staff. We have an excellent chemistry and a team‑oriented attitude. Our office supports a hybrid and remote work environment.

We have a broad‑based trust and estate practice, with an emphasis on elder, incapacity, and special needs matters. Candidate will ideally possess some or all of the following skills or analogous skills in family law:

• Readily familiar with drafting and filing of pleadings related to trust/probate administration and conservatorships;


• Working knowledge of Probate Code, Local and State Rules of Court;


• Knowledge of rules and procedures of pleading and practice in estate administration of court supervised matters;


• Good to Excellent computer skills;


• Self-Starter able to manage caseload from start to finish;


• Excellent phone skills, and the ability to develop and nurture client relationships;


• Familiarity with estate planning document preparation.

A hired applicant will be started at a pay range between: $30 - $45 per hour based on level of experience. Paralegals Annual reviews are held, and additional discretionary bonuses may be paid from time to time. Paralegals with seniority at our firm may be paid in excess of stated range. We are open to hybrid and remote work arrangements.
