Priority Dispatch Corp. is seeking a Paralegal - Tier II in the New York City area. The role supports attorneys with housing court matters, including Queens Housing Court and NYCHA Part, plus submitting and serving orders and motions.

Title: Paralegal - Tier IILocation: New York City Metropolitan AreaReports to: Supervising Paralegal or Supervising AttorneyPay Range: $42.58 – $42.48 per hour (effectively $77,500 – $77,500 per year)Classification: Non-ExemptEmployment Type: Full-time (35 hours per week)Role Summary: Paralegals are vital members of our legal team, providing essential support to attorneys. The Paralegal - Tier II is responsible for assisting with court-related tasks, including checking into Court Parts, updating clients on case statuses during court proceedings, and submitting, conforming, and serving Orders to Show Cause, Stipulations, and Motions. Participation in our Universal Access Day is mandatory, which involves interviewing clients to assess eligibility for our programs and legal representation.Primary Job Responsibilities/Duties:The Paralegal (Tier II) position includes, but is not necessarily limited to, the following job duties:Supporting fellow paralegals with questions and guidance related to their cases.Assisting colleagues in navigating the housing court system.Providing clients with in-office assistance regarding their court cases.Supporting attorneys with cases in Queens Housing Court and NYCHA Part.Submitting, conforming, and serving legal documents as required.Preparing legal agreements, documents, motions, and Orders to Show Cause to aid attorneys.Evaluating the merits of court cases assigned by the court, the Department of Social Services, or through self-referral.Offering oral and written translation assistance for attorneys representing non-English-speaking clients.Advocating with various organizations and government agencies on behalf of vulnerable, low-income tenants to ensure access to and/or retention of public benefits.Attending professional meetings, educational conferences, and in-service training sessions.Maintaining accurate and current documentation, progress notes, and data tools in both physical and electronic formats.Upholding confidentiality standards at all times.Maintaining a professional appearance.Demonstrating effective time management and prioritization skills.Collaborating with staff across departments.Performing general clerical duties as needed.Fostering and maintaining strong communication with other programs and units within the organization to facilitate inter-agency referrals.Providing coverage for other areas as directed or required.Undertaking additional duties as assigned.Physical Requirements:Ability to walk, stand, kneel, crouch, and bend over.Ability to lift, reach, and handle objects weighing up to 25 pounds.Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for prolonged periods.Ability to travel to different locations within New York City, as needed.Work Environment / Schedule Requirements:While standard business hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, employees may be required to work on or during evenings, weekends, and holidays.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree and two (2) or more years of experience in landlord/tenant law, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Ability to thrive in a stressful environment.Strong team-building skills.Demonstrated professional ethics and integrity.Excellent communication, writing, and organizational skills.Proven ability to understand and speak, read, and write in both English and Spanish.Exceptional attention to detail with a meticulous approach.Must pass drug screening to be appointed.This position may be subject to a series of investigations before and after appointment.Equal Employment OpportunityNAICA is an equal opportunity employer committed to maintaining a diverse workforce and inclusive work environment.
