About the Role

Legal Services of North Florida is hiring a full‑time Paralegal (35 hours per week) to support its Veteran’s Legal Services Project in our Tallahassee office. This role will help veterans navigate public benefits, family law, housing, property rights, and other civil law matters while contributing to large‑scale litigation and community outreach efforts.

Responsibilities

• Conduct client interviews and maintain accurate, confidential client records.
• Draft letters, legal motions, and orders in accordance with jurisdictional requirements.
• Prepare documents and materials for hearings and appellate work.
• Engage in client communication and outreach activities, including pro‑se document assistance.
• Collaborate with attorneys and paralegals in civil litigation and administrative law projects.

Qualifications

• Completion of a legal assistant or paralegal program approved by the American Bar Association, a two‑ or four‑year degree, or equivalent work experience.
• Proficiency with electronic filing and drafting legal documents.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with outreach, community education, or public presentations is a plus.
• Knowledge of VA benefits and the claims process is preferred but not required.

Salary and Benefits

Salary is negotiable based on experience; entry‑level applicants can expect a starting salary of $38,000 per year plus benefits.
