Job summary

California State University, Los Angeles is seeking part-time lecturers for the Extended Education program to teach paralegal and law-related courses. Ideal applicants have a relevant bachelor’s degree with significant paralegal experience; Master’s or J.D.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution and minimum of ten years of paralegal experience
Compliance with California Business & Professions Code Section 6450 (mandatory legal education every two years)
Demonstrated ability to teach a college or university-level legal course

Responsibilities

Instruct courses and prepare classes.
Grade assignments and hold office hours.
Design assessments and engaging learning activities to develop practical legal skills.
Update course content to reflect evolving legal practices and technologies.
Communicate course expectations and grading policies clearly to students.
Respond to student questions promptly and professionally.
Incorporate practical legal examples and scenarios to illustrate concepts.
Employ inclusive and culturally responsive teaching practices for diverse learners.
Collaborate with department colleagues to meet enrollment and curriculum needs.
