Job summary

Confidential law firm in Houston seeks an experienced Litigation Paralegal to support attorneys through all phases of litigation. The ideal candidate holds a paralegal certificate or degree and has 4+ years of relevant experience, with strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities include drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery documents; conducting legal research; filing court papers; and managing case files. Spanish bilingual skills are a plus.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Gather, organize, and maintain case documents from clients, witnesses, and third parties

• Prepare and file court documents in accordance with court rules and deadlines
• Organize exhibits, trial notebooks, mediation/arbitration materials, and other litigation support
• Assist with trial preparation, hearings, depositions, and related proceedings
• Interview clients and witnesses to obtain facts and documentation
• Maintain case files and communicate with clients regarding status and requests
• Coordinate case calendars, monitor deadlines, and ensure timely filings

The ideal candidate will have a degree and/or a paralegal certificate, as well as 4 or more years of litigation experience. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Gather, organize, and maintain case-related documents, records, and information from clients, witnesses, experts, and third parties. Conduct legal research, including reviewing statutes, regulations, case law, and legal precedents. Draft legal correspondence, reports, pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, and other legal documents for attorney review. Prepare and file court documents in accordance with applicable court rules and deadlines. Organize exhibits, trial notebooks, mediation binders, arbitration materials, and other litigation support documents. Assist attorneys with trial preparation, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and depositions. Prepare supporting documentation and maintain case files throughout the litigation process. Interview clients and witnesses to obtain relevant facts and documentation. Maintain regular communication with clients regarding case status and document requests. Review legal documents for accuracy, completeness, and factual consistency. Coordinate case calendars, monitor deadlines, and ensure timely filings. Maintain organized electronic and physical case files. Assist with special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications Degree and/or a Paralegal Certificate is preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of 4 or more years of professional experience as a litigation paralegal. Experience with healthcare insurance collections is preferred. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus, but not required. Computer Skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
