The King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office is looking for a highly-motivated individual to join our team as a Paralegal II in the Special Assault Unit of our Gender-Based Violence & Prevention Division (GBVP).
Working in our Special Assault Unit means being part of a team that created one of the first specialized units in the country focused exclusively on cases involving the sexual and physical abuse of children and adults, with the goal of ensuring that these complex and sensitive cases are handled with the integrity, professionalism, and compassion with which they deserve. Being a SAU Paralegal for our office means leading with a victim-centered approach on these serious and complex cases, as well as the opportunity to work collaboratively with Deputy Prosecuting Attorneys (DPAs), other paralegals and legal assistants, victim advocates, law enforcement, and other community partners in fulfilling our mission to do justice.

This position may be eligible for bilingual premium pay of $1 per hour for all hours worked. Desired languages include Spanish, Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin, Shanghai, Other), Dari, Russian, and/or Vietnamese. To qualify for bilingual premium pay, applicants must demonstrate sufficient language proficiency as part of the hiring process.
The primary workstation for this role is located at the Maleng Regional Justice Center (MRJC) in Kent, with the occasional need to work at the King County Courthouse (KCCH) in Seattle. This is a in-person/telecommuting hybrid position. This position is required to be in the office a minimum of three days a week and is required to work on-site for trials and any office-related duties that require an in-person presence to meet the operational needs of the position, unit, division, and overall mission. Based on prior experience and training needs, you may be required to be in the office four days a week during the initial training period.
This position works a 40-hour work week schedule, normally Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Range 51 - $39.81 (step one) - $50.47 (step ten) hourly*
* In addition to the benefits listed on the benefits tab, employees with less than 2 years of service will receive .25 per hour less than the hourly salary table due to a mandatory contribution toward the Teamsters Pension Trust that was voted by members of the collective bargaining agreement between our office and Teamsters Local No. 117. This contribution is made by the employee and after two years it is paid by the employer.
This is a Term-Limited Temporary position (TLT) backfilling for an employee who is on a special duty assignment and is anticipated to last 12 months.
