Job summary

The Law Office of Bryan Fagan in Angleton, TX is seeking a Paralegal - Family Law to join our Legal department. You will manage the full lifecycle of family law matters with empathy and precision.

You’ll draft pleadings, handle discovery, coordinate with attorneys, and ensure timely court filings while maintaining work-life balance in a team-based environment.

Qualifications

• At least 2+ years of dedicated Texas Family Law experience.
• Proficiency in E-Filing across state portals and local rules.
• Fluent in Clio/MyCase, Google Suite, and modern document management systems.

Responsibilities

• Case ownership: Manage full lifecycle of family law matters from inception through resolution.
• Strategic drafting: Draft pleadings, motions, and complex discovery responses with accuracy.
• Discovery & inventory: Lead discovery, trace separate property funds, identify red flags in financials.
• Trial readiness: Prepare trial exhibits and notebooks; assist with RFOs and filings.
• Administrative precision: Maintain court filings and calendar deadlines with accuracy.

The Law Office of Bryan Fagan specializes in family law, estate planning & probate, and criminal defense. We operate 16 locations across Texas- Including two offices in Houston (Corporate and The Heights) and individual locations in Abilene, Atascocita, Austin, Dallas, El Paso, Fort Worth, Galveston, Humble, Kingwood, Richmond, Rockwall, San Antonio, The Woodlands, and Victoria with additional expansion planned!

What You'll Do

Our paralegal teams are the backbone of our advocacy and practice strategy. We strive to provide a true team-based environment that protects your work-life balance. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in family law to drive meaningful results for our clients, navigating them through their toughest chapters with professionalism and empathy.

• Case Ownership: Manage the full lifecycle of family law and EPG (Estate Planning/Guardianship) matters from inception through resolution.


• Strategic Drafting: Craft substantive pleadings, motions, and complex discovery responses with a high degree of technical accuracy.


• Discovery & Inventory: Lead the discovery and inventory process, including tracing separate property funds and identifying \"red flags\" in complex financial affidavits or business valuations.


• Trial Readiness: Partner with attorneys to curate trial exhibits, organize trial notebooks, and manage ongoing RFOs (Requests for Order).


• Administrative Precision: Oversee court filings, maintain rigorous calendaring for hearings and deadlines, and ensure billable hours are captured accurately.

• Experience: At least 2+ years of dedicated Texas Family Law experience as a paralegal.


• Technical Mastery: Proficiency in E-Filing across various state court portals and staying current with local rules.


• Software Expert: Fluent in Clio/MyCase, Google Suite, and modern document management systems.


• Ethical Anchor: A professional who understands the line between legal information and legal advice and remains calm under the pressure of emotionally charged litigation.


• Team Leader: A self-starter capable of providing mentorship and contributing to a collaborative team culture.
