Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani, a national law firm with a Leawood office, seeks an experienced Litigation Paralegal with 3+ years in a large-firm environment.

The role supports attorneys in drafting pleadings, performing factual and legal research, managing discovery and documents, and assisting at trial, hearings, and depositions, with strict adherence to State and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a litigation-focused paralegal.
• Experience in litigation support and case management.
• Drafting and organizing discovery – both written discovery and document production.
• Experience preparing for and assisting at trial.
• Familiarity with State and Federal Rules of Civil Procedures.
• Experience with Summation Pro, Relativity, or comparable software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Communicate professionally with clients, contacts, attorneys, and staff.
• Assist attorneys in drafting pleadings, performing legal research, and supporting hearings and depositions.
• Review, gather, and organize client documents from production to discovery.
• Research, organize, and summarize records to assist data gathering.
• Assist with preparing discovery requests and responses.
• Assist in trial preparation, including exhibits and live trial support.
• Other duties as assigned.

Overview

Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani, a national law firm with offices in all 50 States, has immediate openings for experienced Litigation Paralegals in its forthcoming Leawood office. The ideal candidate must have 3+ years of experience working as a litigation-focused paralegal, preferably in a large law firm setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in litigation support and case management.
• Ability to adapt to changes in work environment and manage multiple cases, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient, with a high level of professionalism.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Experience drafting and organizing discovery – both written discovery and document production.
• Experience preparing for and assisting at trial.
• Familiarity with the State and Federal Rules of Civil Procedures.
• Experience with Summation Pro, Relativity, or comparable litigation support software.
• Excellent analytical and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational, and technical skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Key Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys in drafting pleadings, performing factual and legal research, reviewing, and analyzing documents, and supporting preparations for hearings, depositions, and mediations.
• Review, gather, and organize client documents from production to discovery.
• Research, organize, and summarize records as needed to assist in data gathering, including organizing information and documents in databases.
• Assist with preparing discovery requests and responses.
• Assist in trial preparation, including drafting pre-trial pleadings, preparing exhibits, coordinating witnesses and requests with outside vendors, and live trial support.
• Other duties as assigned.
