Overview

Family Law Paralegal Job Summary: The Family Law Paralegal will assist attorneys by providing clerical and research support services in matters pertaining to divorce, adoption, and others as seen fit. This includes document preparation and review, interviewing clients and witnesses, conducting research, performing investigations, fact-checking, and assisting with trial preparation. The role requires a strong understanding of family law, attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills.

Responsibilities
  • Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents such as divorce petitions, custody agreements, and financial disclosures.
  • Conduct legal research to support case preparation and provide relevant information to attorneys.
  • Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up to date.
  • Communicate with clients to gather information, update them on case progress, and answer inquiries.
  • File documents with the court and ensure compliance with filing deadlines and procedures.
  • Prepare discovery documents and assist with gathering evidence and witness statements.
  • Help in trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and trial binders.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all interactions with clients and court personnel.
Required Skills/Abilities

Education and Experience

  • 3 to 5 years of related experience is preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a desk.
  • Capability to lift and carry files or documents (typically up to 25 pounds).
  • Office setting with standard working hours, though occasional overtime may be required during busy periods or close to deadlines.
Compensation

The salary range for this position is $55,000 to $65,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications. In addition, the role includes quarterly performance-based bonuses. We offer a competitive compensation package designed to recognize excellence and support long-term growth.
