Paycom is seeking a paralegal to support attorneys in trusts, estates, fiduciaries, and family business practice groups. The role includes drafting estate planning documents, deeds, and beneficiary designations, attending client meetings, and assisting with filings and billing.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in a professional services firm with estate planning or corporate work, and strong organizational and communication skills. Office-based role with standard hours.

Qualifications

  • Paralegal with estate planning or fiduciary experience preferred.
  • Experience in corporate work or litigation is a plus.
  • Strong document management and drafting skills.
  • Familiarity with client meetings and document execution processes.

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys in drafting estate planning documents and related deeds.
  • Prepare closing binders and electronic transcripts.
  • Assist with corporate and court filings and tax IDs.
  • Support client communications and billing processes.
  • Maintain secure file sharing and document management.

Responsibilities include assisting the attorneys in the preparation of estate planning documents, deeds and beneficiary designation forms; preparation of certain business-planning related documents such as assignments; attending and assisting in client meetings with execution of documents; assisting with client communications; preparing closing binders and electronic transcripts of estate planning and business planning documents, assisting with corporate and court filings; obtaining Tax ID numbers; assisting with billing; assisting with electronic productions of documents and secure file sharing; and assisting with managing certain administrative tasks for the attorneys.Essential Job FunctionsAbility to respond quickly to changing priorities and to be self-motivated, with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.Excellent organizational, project-management and calendaring skills.Great client skills.Outstanding oral and written communication skills.Excellent document management skills.Great work ethic.Attentive to detail and able to multi-task.A professional attitude and professional engagement with clients and team members are essential.Able to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretionDetail oriented and able to multi-task and work within deadlinesUsing software to assist with the preparation of estate planning documents.Participation in meetings with clients, attorneys and advisors during the estate planning and estate-administration process.Communicate professionally and timely with clients, family members, trustees, other attorneys and professionals.Necessary Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesExcellent interpersonal and organizational skills and the ability to work successfully with multiple team members, interacting with employees at all levels of the organization.Competent to handle a variety of activities with attention to detail and quality, with the ability to follow through and follow up, and adapt to quickly meet changing deadlines and priorities.Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PDF software, and DocuSign;Proficient in or willing to learn software for secure file sharing and billing.Experience with XPressDox a plus.Ability to complete multiple tasks and a high volume of work on short deadlines and follow through on assigned tasks with limited supervision.Retain a high level of flexibility and resourceful problem solving.Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.Ability to handle sensitive information with the highest degree of integrity and confidentiality.Educational and Experience RequirementsBachelor’s degree or equivalent education and work experience;At least two plus years of experience in a professional services firm with a concentration in estate planning, corporate work or litigation.Work Environment and Physical DemandsAbility to work extended hours when necessary, although this is rarely requested.Normal office environment; no unusual physical demands.In office position
