Job summary

Santa Clara Unified School District is seeking a dedicated paraprofessional to assist in instructional support for a special education student under an IEP.

You will work closely with teachers to implement reading, writing, and math activities, monitor progress, and provide positive behavior support; CPR and First Aid certification are required.

This on-site position offers ongoing collaboration with a caring team committed to equity and high expectations for every student.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Requirements / Qualifications

This position requires the candidate to have completed at least two years of study at an institution of higher education OR the ability to demonstrate, through a formal local academic assessment, knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics (or readiness in those subjects, as appropriate). Testing TBD. You will be working with a special education student and will provide individual services and support for that student per their Individual Education Plan (IEP).

• Candidate must be a high school graduate and have knowledge of principles and practices relating to Special Education, subjects taught in District schools, and principles and techniques of providing instructional assistance in a variety of subject areas.
• Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and vocabulary, as well as good oral and written communication skills are essential.
• Maintaining a current CPR and First Aid certification is required.
