Job summary

Park Place Middle School in Monroe, Washington is seeking a Paraeducator – Specialized Instructional to support a 1:1 student across instructional activities. This is a temporary 30-day position with a 3-hour shift from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, Wednesday through Friday, starting 9/9/26.

Responsibilities include assisting with instructional activities, promoting student learning, and performing routine tasks for instructional personnel under supervision.

Qualifications

• Be at least eighteen years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent.
• Have an associate degree or higher, or 72 quarter credits / 48 semester credits at the 100 level or higher.
• Completed an apprenticeship as a paraeducator, registered with the Washington State Apprenticeship and Training Council.
• Passed a PESB approved assessment.

Job Description

Prior to applying for aparaeducator position you must meet the following requirements:

Be at least eighteen years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent AND

• Hold an associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university, OR
• Have earned 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at the 100 level or higher at an accredited college or university, OR
• Completed an apprenticeship as a paraeducator, in a program registered with the Washington State Apprenticeship and Training Council, OR
• Received a passing score on one of the PESB approved assessments (see Monroe SD employment information page for more information)

• Hourly rates are for 2025-26; 26-27 rates are pending bargaining agreement completion.
