Job summary

Lake Orion District Wide in Lake Orion, Michigan is seeking a full-time paraeducator to support students with special needs and assist teachers in developing educational learning and life skills.

Ideal candidates have an associates degree or state test, CPR/First Aid, paraeducator certification preferred, and demonstrate strong confidentiality and relationship-building with students, parents and staff. Starting date is immediate; salary ranges $17.92 to $20.84 per hour.

Qualifications

• Paraeducator certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Works directly with children with special needs in development of educational learning and life skills.
• Collaborates with parents, students, teachers and principals in a positive manner.
• Performs gross motor activities and physical agility as needed.
• May involve heavy lifting.
• Potential toileting assistance for students.
• May involve managing physically aggressive students.
• Completes required trainings to maintain position.
• Schedule may be flexible to meet student needs.
• Performs additional duties as assigned by teacher/administrator.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
