Inversion is a cutting-edge aerospace startup focused on reentry technology and rapid, secure payload delivery. As a Parachute Engineer II, you will shape vehicle architecture and parachute systems from concept through manufacture within the Accurate Landing Team.

You will collaborate with customers to define requirements and support extensive testing of Arc’s deployment systems. The role demands strong design fundamentals, textile expertise, and clear communication in a fast-paced startup

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • 2+ years parachute design experience with significant project ownership.
  • Strong engineering design fundamentals.
  • Experienced in textile design, including sewing, rigging, and hardware testing.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. government Secret/Top Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and own a variety of parachute systems from concept to manufacture.
  • Work with customers to develop and satisfy design requirements.
  • Support testing and design of Arc’s parachute and deployment systems.
  • Lead and support parachute and parachute-adjacent hardware, mechanisms, and systems.
