Job Description: Early Childhood Para III

Paraeducators assigned to the Early Childhood program will work with 3 and 4 year-old children in a learning and social environment. Duties include assisting in the classroom, setting up and cleaning up breakfast and lunch, facilitating learning, play, and self-help activities, and assisting teachers in implementing Individual Education Programs for children below age five with verified disabilities. Paraeducators are assigned non-teaching duties, including a wide variety of activities.

This position will support the afternoon program. The work schedule is 10:45am to 3:15pm.

The position must meet the requirements of State Rule 11, which states at least 12 semester credit hours in early childhood/child development or the equivalent in prior training or experience. Associate Degree in Early Child Development is preferred. A candidate who does not meet these requirements may be considered. At the time of hire, a condition of employment is to complete 6 hours of training or experience during the first year of employment; the remaining 6 hours must be completed by the end of the 2nd year of employment. Must be 19 years of age and meet State of NE licensing requirements, including CPR certification and a First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain and maintain one).

2026-2027 Salary is $21.30/hour.

This position is subject to veterans preference.
