The Panel Technician & Assembler is responsible for the assembly and build of electrical and mechanical projects specified for customers, including but not limited to cutting, drilling, wiring, and installing various components of a project. This position works in close with coordination with project engineers to assure desired project results and timelines are met.

Shift: 7 AM - 4 PM; Monday - Friday

We are looking for associates who:

Project Scope & Planning
  • Receives project assignments and instructions
  • Reads, reviews, interprets, follows schematics and layouts.
  • Assists with estimating projects when required
  • Follows and meets project schedules and deadlines.
Project Build & Testing
  • Receives, identifies, and sorts components for a project.
  • Completes layout and fastens various components, on backplates or in enclosures using schematics and templates.
  • Crates, skids, secures and wraps completed projects for shipment.
  • Drills, taps, cuts, and prepares knockouts of metal and other materials.
  • Wires required components per schematics.
  • Route and bundle wiring, cables, etc. in a managed and neat manner.
  • Mark‑ups as built schematics and layouts.
  • Cuts, strips, crimps, bends, labels, and terminates various wire sizes.
  • Cuts and installs various types of wire duct and din‑rail.
  • Supports and understands components for safe operation and installation including but not limited to VFDs, PLCs, HMIs, sensors, pushbuttons, switches, relays, starters, transformers, etc.
  • Operates machinery, hand, and power tools in a safe and professional manner.
  • Assists with testing and troubleshooting completed projects and connect required devices (sensors, motors, disconnects, power cables, etc.).
  • Work safely with and around 480V, 120V, 24V, and pressurized systems, assuring appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is utilized.
  • Understands NEC and UL508a regulations and standards.
  • Learns and navigates AutoCAD when required.
  • Secures wall‑mount and free‑standing enclosures, when needed and required.

  • Quickly finds common ground and solves problems for the good of all.

  • Maintains an accurate follow‑up system for actively tracking promises made to customers and expediting projects to assure that materials are completed and delivered as scheduled.
  • Provides customer with appropriate product information to assure customer is equipped with the knowledge needed to make an informed purchase.
  • Resolves customer concerns.
  • Encourages collaboration and is viewed as a team player.
Product Knowledge
  • Develops and maintains working knowledge of products utilized in project builds.
  • Attends product training classes to develop superior product knowledge to apply to customer projects and applications, if and when needed.
Communication & Team Orientation
  • Communicates well and respectfully with customers, engineers, fellow associates, management team and manufacturing partners to ensure a professional experience.
  • Develops an effective and productive working relationship with branch associates, sales associates and all managers.
  • Aptitude to organize, prioritize and complete tasks on time.
Other Responsibilities
  • Ability to maintain a clean, organized and safe working environment
  • Ability to travel to jobsites, if needed and when required
  • Ability to perform other manufacturing tasks as needed depending upon workload
  • Performs other duties as instructed or required to successfully complete the job.
What you bring:
  • High school diploma and/or technical degree.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and manage several projects and deadlines in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and independently.
  • Ability to use, read and interrupt measuring devices such as a tape measure
  • Ability to use a computer, operating software and wiring/device marking systems
  • Demonstrated ability to assemble and wiring skills
Desirable qualifications, NOT required:
  • 1 year of experience as an electrician, technician, assembler, or equivalent education from a technical school
  • Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic devices
  • Metal working including but not limited to fabrication, welding, etc.
  • Painting experience
