Job summary

The Gund Company is hiring a Panel Saw Operator for the second shift (2:30pm–11:00pm) in Wisconsin. You will operate fabrication equipment, read blueprints, and ensure parts meet customer requirements while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Very good math skills.
  • Ability to understand drawing and blueprints.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Operate multiple types of fabrication equipment.
  • Operates tools according to instructions, specifications, and standard charts.
  • Places and secures work pieces in proper machine table, holding device, or other surface.
  • Load, operate and manufacture parts using various manufacturing equipment per Work Orders and blueprints.
  • Complete project work involving assembly with hand tools and mechanical devices.
  • Complete work order paperwork.
  • Perform in-process inspection per standard procedures.
  • Maintain count and perform packaging duties as required.
  • Participate in cross training to learn equipment/process within department.
  • Perform routine daily machine maintenance including cleaning and lubrication.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Provide guidance and training to teammates.
  • Follow safety rules and quality standards.

  • Implement the Production Fulfillment Process steps related to the fabrication of parts according to work order and customer requirements. Ensures machinery is set up, works properly, and conforms with (and can produce materials that conform with) company quality, quantity, and efficiency standards.
Essential Job Functions
  • Operate multiple types of fabrication equipment:
  • Operates tools according to instructions, specifications, and standard charts.
  • Places and secures work pieces in proper machine table, holding device, or other appropriate surface using clamps and wrenches.
  • Load, operate and manufacture a variety of parts using various manufacturing equipment to make custom parts according to customer orders and instructions written on Work Orders and blueprints
  • Complete project work as needed involving the assembly of parts that require the use of hand tools, paint accessories and mechanical devices
  • Complete work order paperwork
  • Perform in-process inspection according to standard procedures
  • Maintain count and perform packaging duties as required
  • Participate in cross training activities to become knowledgeable of equipment/process within the department
  • Perform routine daily machine maintenance including cleaning up and lubrication
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Provide guidance, feedback and positive behavior modeling The Gund Company culture of care:

Education and Experience
  • A High School Diploma or GED with prior hands on, vocational or job-related course work/training, or any similar combination of education and experience is required. Prior experience in a manufacturing industry is preferred.
Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is may be required to sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is regularly required to stand; walk and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

The work environment is typical of most shop environments; not climate controlled and subject to outdoor weather conditions. Team members are exposed to sounds and noise levels that are distracting.

  • Frequent exposure to fumes/dust particles; may require use of respirators or other types of PPE.
  • May come in contact with toxic or caustic chemicals.
