Job summary

Grantek is seeking a panel builder to install machine controls on our custom automation equipment in Addison, IL. You will read electrical schematics, assemble panels, and wire I/O for both panel and field devices.

Responsibilities include panel construction, wiring from scratch, pneumatic plumbing, mounting components, and diagnosing issues to keep automation systems running reliably. This role offers both part-time and full-time opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read electrical schematics.
  • Ability to read Pneumatic schematics.
  • Experience wiring electrical panels.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and wire control panels from schematics.
  • Perform field wiring to panel I/O or field devices.
  • Read Pneumatic schematics for plumbing and layout.
  • Mount components and fabricate brackets as needed.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical systems, and troubleshoot.
  • Provide status updates to management on projects.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and diagnostics on automation systems.
  • Ensure equipment operates correctly after service.

Job description

The panel builder will be responsible for installing machine controls on our custom automation equipment.

Tasks include performing electrical panel wiring, field wiring, troubleshooting and machine integration of industrial automated equipment.

we are hiring for both part-time and full-time roles.

Responsibilities:
  • Panel Construction
  • Build and wire panels from scratch reading electrical schematics
  • Field wiring to either the panel I/O or field mount I/O devices
  • Pneumatic plumbing, must be able to read and understand Pneumatic schematics
  • Mounting electrical controls components to the machine, and fabricating mounting brackets as required
  • Must be able to read and understand electrical schematic
  • Troubleshoot and debug (i.e. diagnoses trouble or defects, determines corrective action and repairs system)
  • Ensure that all equipment is in proper working condition after troubleshooting
  • Perform preventative maintenance and diagnostics on automation system and components
  • Provide status updates to management on assigned projects
